ISLAMABAD, June 27 (TNF): Pakistan and the United States on Thursday agreed to work closely to strengthen bilateral ties with a particular focus on enhancing trade, according to Radio Pakistan.
The understanding was reached during a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. In their warm and cordial exchange, the prime minister praised President Donald Trump’s bold and decisive leadership that helped secure a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.
He also expressed gratitude to Secretary Rubio for the United States’ role in facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
Discussing the Middle East situation, the prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive role in promoting peace in the region. Secretary Rubio welcomed these efforts and conveyed the US desire to work with Pakistan to advance peace and stability.
