ISLAMABAD, June 27 (TNF): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated on Thursday that Pakistan remains committed to playing a constructive role in promoting peace in the Middle East. The remarks came during a telephonic conversation between the prime minister and United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
During the call, both sides agreed to maintain close cooperation to further strengthen bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on expanding trade ties between the two countries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz praised President Donald Trump’s “bold and decisive leadership” in securing the ceasefire between Iran and Israel and expressed gratitude to Secretary Rubio for the United States’ significant contribution in facilitating a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India. Rubio welcomed Pakistan’s efforts and reaffirmed the United States’ desire to work with Pakistan in fostering peace and stability across the region.
