KATHMANDU, June 27 (TNF): The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal awarded scholarships to 195 deserving Nepali students during the 13th Ambassador of Pakistan Annual Scholarship Award Ceremony held in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The event, which recognizes academic excellence among Nepali students, saw participation from 102 schools across the country. A special prize — a laptop — was also awarded to a student who demonstrated consistent academic brilliance.
Chief guest Ek Nath Dhakal, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Nepal Family Party, distributed the scholarships. In his remarks, Dhakal praised Pakistan’s sustained technical assistance in Nepal’s education sector, calling it a sign of the strong and friendly ties between the two nations. He expressed optimism that such initiatives would strengthen youth engagement and encourage deeper cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abrar H. Hashmi, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue and expand the scholarship initiative, including greater support for higher secondary education. He termed the ceremony a celebration of student achievement and a symbol of shared responsibility between the two countries. The ambassador also encouraged Nepali youth to excel in academics, sports, and constructive social activities.
Launched in 2013, the Ambassador of Pakistan Scholarship Programme has become a flagship educational cooperation initiative between Pakistan and Nepal.
