Khamenei Appears Publicly at Ashura Ceremony Amid Tensions

TEHRAN, July 6 (TNF): Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made a rare public appearance on Saturday, attending a religious gathering after weeks of remaining out of sight during the country’s ongoing conflict with Israel, state television reported.

A video broadcast by state media showed Khamenei entering a hall where dozens had gathered to commemorate Ashura. The participants stood and chanted as he arrived at the venue, often used for official state events.

Since the start of the 12-day air conflict with Israel on June 13, Khamenei had reportedly been staying in a secure location for safety reasons. Throughout the hostilities, the Supreme Leader refrained from live appearances, instead delivering pre-recorded speeches.

In one such address on June 26, aired on state TV, Khamenei vowed that Iran would not yield to external pressure, despite calls from US President Donald Trump for Iran to back down.
