UHS Releases First MBBS Merit List for Private Medical Colleges in Punjab

LAHORE, December 27 (TNF): The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has issued the first selection list for MBBS admissions in private medical colleges across Punjab, marking the formal start of the admission process for thousands of aspiring medical students.

According to our correspondent in Lahore, the first merit list shows a wide merit range across institutions, with the lowest closing merit recorded at 75.9465 per cent. The list covers 33 private medical colleges offering a total of 4,350 MBBS seats in the province.

A spokesperson for University of Health Sciences confirmed that Al Aleem Medical College, Lahore, recorded the highest closing merit in the first list at 92.7136 per cent. It was followed closely by Sharif Medical and Dental College, Lahore, with a closing merit of 91.6586 per cent.

Shalamar Medical and Dental College, Lahore, secured the third position with a closing merit of 90.6364 per cent, while FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, Lahore, closed at 90.1348 per cent. These institutions remained at the top of the merit chart, reflecting strong competition among high-performing candidates.

Several other Lahore-based colleges also posted high merit thresholds. Lahore Medical and Dental College closed at 88.6924 per cent, while Rashid Latif Medical College recorded a merit of 86.2929 per cent. Rehbar Medical and Dental College stood at 85.9455 per cent, and Continental Medical College, Lahore, closed at 85.3313 per cent.

Outside Lahore, Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College, Rawalpindi, recorded a closing merit of 88.0869 per cent, while its Lahore campus stood slightly lower at 87.9848 per cent. Watim Medical College, Rawalpindi, closed at 85.2717 per cent, showing strong demand in the twin cities as well.

Mid-range merit colleges included Sialkot Medical College at 83.6111 per cent, University College of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Lahore, at 83.596 per cent, and Central Park Medical College, Lahore, at 83.501 per cent. Aziz Fatima Medical and Dental College, Faisalabad, closed at 83.1465 per cent, followed by Avicenna Medical College, Lahore, at 82.6343 per cent.

In South Punjab, Bakhtawar Amin Medical and Dental College, Multan, recorded a closing merit of 82.2424 per cent, while Multan Medical and Dental College stood at 81.802 per cent. Azra Naheed Medical College, Superior University Lahore, closed at 81.396 per cent, and Pak Red Crescent Medical and Dental College, Lahore, recorded 81.1192 per cent.

Colleges with merit levels around the 80 per cent mark included Abu Umara Medical and Dental College, Lahore, at 80.8455 per cent, and Independent Medical College, Faisalabad, at 79.8182 per cent. Islam Medical College, Sialkot, M Islam Medical College, Gujranwala, and University Medical and Dental College for Women, University of Faisalabad, all closed between 79.3 and 79.7 per cent.

Among the lower closing merits, Amina Inayat Medical College, Sheikhupura, recorded 79.1409 per cent, Rai Medical College, Sargodha, stood at 78.8576 per cent, and Shahida Islam Medical College, Lodhran, closed at 78.6737 per cent. Niazi Medical and Dental College, Sargodha, recorded 78.4621 per cent, while Sahara Medical College, Narowal, closed at 77.797 per cent.

The lowest closing merit in the first list was recorded at Queens Medical College for Women, Kasur, at 75.9465 per cent, according to UHS officials.

UHS has instructed all selected candidates to deposit their admission fee by December 30. The initial admission fee challan of Rs600,000 can be downloaded from the official UHS admission portal. Candidates must use the same portal to submit consent for upgradation or to stay on their allotted seat.

Candidates opting for upgradation are required to upload their paid fee receipt online to confirm provisional joining. Those admitted to their first-choice college and opting to stay must report physically to their respective institutions, submit written joining, and pay the remaining fee by the same deadline.
