NEW YORK, December 29 (TNF): Global music icon Beyoncé has officially joined the billionaire ranks, according to Forbes, becoming one of the richest musicians in the world.
The American superstar is now the fifth musician to reach a 10-figure net worth, placing her among an elite group that includes Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen and her husband, Jay-Z, whom Forbes estimates to be worth $2.5 billion.
Forbes confirmed the milestone after reassessing Beyoncé’s earnings across music, touring, film, endorsements and business ventures. Just weeks earlier, the magazine had placed her net worth at around $800 million and predicted she would soon cross the billion-dollar mark.
That prediction has now become reality.
A major driver of Beyoncé’s wealth surge was her 2023 Renaissance World Tour. The tour grossed nearly $600 million, making it one of the highest-earning tours in music history. It also cemented her position as one of the most commercially powerful artists of her generation.
Beyoncé did not stop at live performances. She also produced a concert film based on the tour and distributed it directly through a deal with the AMC cinema chain. According to Forbes, the film earned $44 million globally, with Beyoncé keeping nearly half of the revenue due to the unique distribution arrangement.
The move marked a shift away from traditional studio-led releases and gave the singer greater control over profits. Industry analysts say the strategy reflects Beyoncé’s growing influence not only as an artist, but also as a business executive.
In 2024, Beyoncé released her critically acclaimed album Cowboy Carter, which explored and celebrated the Black roots of country music. The album received widespread praise from critics and fans alike.
At the Grammy Awards, Cowboy Carter won Album of the Year, marking the first time Beyoncé had secured the top prize despite multiple previous nominations. The win further boosted her commercial appeal and tour demand.
The Cowboy Carter tour proved another financial success. Forbes estimates the tour generated more than $400 million in ticket sales, along with an additional $50 million in merchandise revenue.
The tour featured high-profile guest appearances, including Jay-Z, two of the couple’s three children, and former Destiny’s Child bandmates. The shows broke attendance and revenue records at major venues, including Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London and Stade de France in Paris.
However, the tour also faced challenges. Promoters reduced ticket prices at some venues to address slower-than-expected sales. Despite this, the tour still delivered strong overall earnings.
The highest-priced ticket sold in the UK reached £950, making it the most expensive top-tier ticket of any artist touring the country in 2025. The lowest-priced tickets started at £71.
Beyond music and touring, Beyoncé continued to expand her income through media and brand deals. Forbes reported that her Netflix Christmas Day NFL halftime show earned an estimated $50 million.
She also secured $10 million from a series of advertising campaigns with Levi’s, adding to her growing endorsement portfolio.
Forbes credited Beyoncé’s long-term strategy for her financial success. The magazine highlighted her control over intellectual property, her direct-to-consumer business decisions, and her ability to turn cultural influence into sustained revenue.
While Bloomberg maintains its own billionaire index, Forbes remains more conservative in its assessments. Bloomberg previously listed singer Selena Gomez as a billionaire, estimating her net worth at $1.3 billion. Forbes has disputed that figure, placing Gomez’s wealth closer to $700 million.
For Beyoncé, however, Forbes said the numbers are clear.
Her career now spans more than two decades, with success across music, film, fashion and business. Analysts say her billionaire status reflects not just popularity, but strategic decision-making and brand power.
With multiple revenue streams still active, Forbes suggests Beyoncé’s wealth could continue to grow in the coming years.
Her rise also places her among a small group of artists who have transformed global fame into lasting financial empires.
