Four RAW Operatives Arrested in Karachi in Counter-Intelligence Operation

KARACHI, June 26 (TNF): In a significant counter-intelligence achievement, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Karachi Police has arrested four individuals allegedly working as operatives for India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The arrests were announced by SSP SIU Shoaib Memon during a press conference held at the CIA Center on Wednesday.

According to SSP Memon, the suspects were apprehended during a joint intelligence-based operation conducted in close coordination with national intelligence agencies. The individuals are accused of being in direct contact with a RAW handler identified as Colonel Ranjit, whom they reportedly referred to as their “boss.”

“These operatives were involved in espionage activities, gathering sensitive information and capturing images of strategic locations in Karachi, particularly military and security installations, and passing them on to RAW,” Memon stated.

As per details reported by The Nation, the suspects identified as fishermen by profession had allegedly crossed into India multiple times. In return for their services, they were compensated with payments ranging from PKR 100,000 to 150,000 per trip, in addition to Indian liquor, cigarettes, and other incentives.

During the raid, law enforcement officials recovered hand grenades, firearms, and a vehicle from the suspects. Investigators have also obtained extensive mobile data from their phones, which is now being analyzed as part of an ongoing investigation.

SSP Memon noted that the accused had conducted reconnaissance and surveillance in various sensitive areas of Karachi, raising concerns about the extent of their intelligence-gathering operations. He confirmed that further interrogations are underway, and more arrests or disclosures are likely in the coming days.

Authorities have assured the public that security forces remain vigilant against foreign intelligence threats and are actively pursuing leads to neutralize any broader networks involved.
