KARACHI, June 27 (TNF): Heavy rainfall in Karachi has caused more than 340 K-Electric feeders to trip, disrupting power supply across various areas of the city, according to ARY News. The outages have affected major localities, plunging several neighborhoods into darkness.
Power supply has been suspended in Gulistan-e-Johar, Scheme 33, and Gulshan-e-Muammar, while multiple areas in Korangi, Bin Qasim, and Orangi Town are also without electricity. Defence Phase VI, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Baldia Town, and Surjani Town are among the other affected zones.
The light to heavy rain across Karachi Thursday night threw the city’s power infrastructure into disarray. K-Electric reported over 340 feeders tripping as a result of the weather.
Many areas, including Malir, Gulshan-e-Hadid, Memon Goth, Shah Latif Town, Razzaqabad, Bhens Colony, Saddar, and surrounding localities, received showers. Steel Town, Pipri, Port Qasim, Ghaffar Phatak, and nearby regions also saw rainfall.
Other impacted locations include Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, University Road, Tariq Road, Bahadurabad, Hasan Square, P.I.B., Jail Road, Safura, Saadi Town, Gulzar-e-Hijri, Scheme 33, Incholi, Gulberg, Garden, and their vicinities.
