China Targets Tech Innovation, Better Public Services

BEIJING, June 29 (TNF): Chinese Premier Li Qiang led a State Council meeting on Friday. Officials reviewed progress in technology reforms and introduced new plans to improve public services. The meeting also assessed how well directives from last year’s National Science and Technology Conference have been carried out.

The meeting noted strong progress in tech reforms at both national and local levels. Authorities have advanced China’s innovation capacity through concrete actions. The group agreed that China must speed up breakthroughs in key technologies. They stressed the need to turn scientific progress into economic gains. Officials also urged businesses to play a bigger role in driving innovation.

On public services, leaders pushed for better integration of financial, healthcare, and telecom services. They called for using digital tools to create a unified system that simplifies administrative tasks for citizens.

The State Council also reviewed a draft regulation on rural road upgrades. Officials said fixing poor rural roads should be an urgent priority. They emphasized that rural transport development must stay central in national plans.
