ISLAMABAD, July 6 (TNF): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the nation to seek guidance from the life and character of Imam Hussain to help Pakistan achieve peace, unity, and progress.
In his message on Ashura, the prime minister said Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), along with his family and companions, sacrificed their lives for truth, justice, and religion. “They did not bow to falsehood,” he stated.
Shehbaz Sharif said Karbala teaches that protecting principles and standing for truth requires courage and firm faith. He noted that though the path of truth is difficult, it leads to Allah Almighty.
He said Pakistan faces many challenges in the economy, society, and national unity. “We must take guidance from Imam Hussain’s life more than ever,” he stressed.
The prime minister urged the nation to adopt honesty, tolerance, patience, and sacrifice in daily life. He called on the people to pledge on Ashura to make truth and honesty their guiding motto.
“We will raise our voice against oppression and strive to bring peace, justice, and dignity to our homeland — as reflected in Imam Hussain’s character,” he added.
