RIYADH, June 27 (TNF): Cristiano Ronaldo has put an end to swirling speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Al Nassr, extending his stay at the Saudi Arabian club until 2027.
Rumours of Ronaldo’s potential departure surfaced earlier this month after the Portugal star posted an image on social media with the caption, “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written.” The cryptic message, combined with remarks from FIFA President Gianni Infantino suggesting Ronaldo could feature in the upcoming Club World Cup, sparked widespread speculation.
However, the former Ballon d’Or winner has now reaffirmed his commitment to the Riyadh-based side. The announcement follows Al Nassr’s recent decision to part ways with coach Stefano Pioli, with Jorge Jesus reportedly in contention for the role.
Ronaldo ended last season as Al Nassr’s top scorer, netting 35 goals in 41 appearances, further cementing his status as the club’s standout performer.
