74 Held in Punjab Over Hate Content Online

LAHORE, July 3 (TNF): The Punjab Home Department announced on Wednesday that 74 people have been arrested across the province for posting or sharing content aimed at spreading religious hatred or inciting violence. Authorities have also flagged 932 social media accounts to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) for further action.

In a statement shared on X, the department confirmed that its Cyber Patrolling and Quick Response Cell is operating round the clock to detect, monitor, and act against sectarian, provocative, and hate-driven material circulating on digital platforms. Officials stressed that efforts are being intensified to prevent the spread of such harmful content, especially during the sensitive days of Muharram.
